Yes I did too, as it would only have made the iva payment higher by that amount.

It worries me when you say that those figures are the ones the the advisor put for you. The proposal is your proposal, and if you let the advisor dictate the figures you are setting yourself up to fail. Please take advice from some other companies before you go ahead.

Sorry, I don't agree with amending the figures to suit the proposal - the figures should be what you actually spend and then it's down to the creditors if the accept the proposal.

Hi Skippy
I am with Fj and they did not amend or tell me to change any figures on i and e unless they thought it was too high and would be unnacceptable or too low and not enough to cope. They only gave advice. Our I and E is fine and we manage well and it covers everything.

Hi Ang, it just worried me when Johnpaul said that he pays £24 per month for Virgin and £18 for broadband but was told to put down £26 and increase his travel costs.

I worry about things like that as it was one of the reasons my IVA failed.

Who have you got your broadband with Johnpaul?

I thought Virgin was cheaper than that. At the moment we've got Sky and broadband from BT (rip off!). When we move (hopefully ASAP!!!) we are going to switch to Sky as they do free broadband, or their top broadband is a tenner.

Mind you, you're lucky to get Virgin at all - I phoned them to find out if we could have their services at the new house and the salesman was telling me how brilliant it was and how I could have phone, digital TV and broadband - until I pointed out I used to work for the company and as far as I was aware the system couldn't support digital in that area. At that point he back tracked and said I could actually have phone, analogue TV and no broadband - muppet!

Yes Skippy i know what you mean thats why I asked john paul if he could manage on his amounts. £40 for travel for a month does seem low to me but it depends on how far work is. I and E is so difficult as other things have as such to be built in to it like hair cuts( I'd look like a gonk if it wasnt cut regulary, I have really thick hair lol) and replacing electricals that break down, not much lasts that long now. My virgin phone and broadband was put down as one figure. Doesnt the Or do the same though in a way I have seen a lot say that the Or said that wasnt enough and made it higher or that it was too much and disallowed lowered it.

Ang, our Sky and broadband is in Dave's name so it was never an issue for me. I didn't have any of my allowances increased (unfortunately!) but the OR did disallow my contingency fund and give me a prescription allowance. I know what you mean about the hair cuts - I've had my hair cut short and it needs cutting regularly now and I would love to know where the OR thinks I can get a hair cut for £10!
