I'm wary about who I let cut my hair - I've had a few disasters! The only one who has been recommended to me charged £120 for a cut and colour - dearer than the salon I go to!

My hair is naturally wavy so it takes a lot of straightening. My hairdresser has the same type hair so I trust her to do it properly! I pay £26 for a cut and blow dry or £75 for highlights (too many grey hairs not to!), cut and blow dry. It's my one luxury so I'm not giving it up!

I had it cut at a big chain in February and it was cut so badly that it's only just started looking normal again!

I went to the local college and the students do the hairdressing, I paid about £18 for highlights and a cut, it used to cost me £55 and I must say, the girl who did it did a far better job of the cut than some "proper" salons I have been to! The only complaint I had was the highlights were a bit too thin. I will definitely go again, I have no choice really as its all I can afford now!

Same as you a few grey hairs to cover up now, and the straightening the same, and if it gets damp It blows up and goes frizzy again, so dry its unbearable at times, though at least I dont have to wash it every day like some do.

I used to wash mine every day but since I started straightening my hair it's dried out nicely! I'm trying to grow my fringe out at the moment and it looks awful and just hangs in my eyes - I will persevere though!

I know what you mean about the frizzies - I bought a new coat the other day and I had to find one with a hood!

Mine is dry anyway and the straightening probably doesnt help but it makes it look normal rather than a fruzzy mess, oh well we are never happy are we , but we try.

My mum spends a fortune having her hair permed and can't understand why I straighten mine - as you say we're never happy!

The most I've paid is £7 [:D]
I'm lucky i've got long straight hair that I can get away with not cutting for ages! One less expense!

Hmmm, I've got short highlighted hair that needs cutting every 4-6 weeks otherwise I start looking like a cocker spaniel!

Oh the cocker spaniel look is very fetching - my mum said I looked like an Old English Sheepdog when I had long curly hair! Sadly it was true!
