Just a quick question that I thought someone on here might know the answer to!

A few weeks ago my partner withdrew 130.00 from a local ATM and the cash wasn't dispensed. After recieving really poor service from Thinkbanking , we eventually , after 4 weeks got a letter saying the ATM balanced and basically that was the end of it!

ASDA where the ATM was said they had recorded over the CCTV images as they did this every 2 weeks.

Does anyone know if there is anything we can do??

Hi Chris

What bad service you have been getting[:(]
Sound like a bit of a different situation to yours but a similar thing happened to me over a year ago.
I put card in and ushed all buttons and machine said wait for cash but nothing came out... I did not move from the cashpoint and phoned the bank there and then (I was with HSBC and the cashpoint was Lloyds). Lots of unhappy people behind me, but they were able to sort it out straight away and said the money was still in my account so maybe was a fault with cash machine saying it had been dispensed.
They were very good and confirmed all this, but surely in your case there is some way of checking that the money was not given??

I hope you get this sorted as that is a lot of money
Good luck
Emma

Try to ring them again and explain, its not fair that you should just have to write off that amount of money.

I have just read your other post about your iva and am very sorry to hear that news, is there nothing else Debtmatters can do for you?

Good luck

I had similar at a natwest bank and I am with thinkbanking. They said that it had not been taken but as with some debits the bank holds the money in the system and would be returned. It was. I would be stamping my feet and telling them it isnt good enough you wernt given the money and want it back.

I have to say I have had no problems with thinkbankng at all. They explained at the time about why the money was not avaliable. I think mine went wrong as they decided to fill the machine at the same time I was getting money out I could hear them banging around at the back. I think the problem will lie with natwest not them as they will bew the ones saying the money tallied up. I would be asking for them to check thge cctv and it should show the money was not taken.
Dont know what else you can do , its terrible.

I have to say I have had nothing but problems with Thinkbanking , including keeping my partners 130.00 pounds. Have now switched to Cooperative Cashminder account and touch wood this appears a sound account. And it's free![:D]

Well ... that's one way of looking at it ... but not always the informed way. [:(]

I for one have ripped nobody off ever. My circumstance changed during the last few years so I'm guessing I'm in the 1%, entering into an IVA or bankruptcy is not a decision taken lightly by anyone and everyone on here supports everyone, never judgemental and the only forum I know that offers me the advice and support I need to cope with my situation. I know that £130 is one hell of a lot of money in any situation but when in IVA or bankruptcy it can be the amount that determines whether you survive or not!
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

you have my blood boiling, over the years most of us have more than paid the banks etc back there money, and if most of us had no morals would have gone bankrupt.

instead we choose to pay as much as possible over years, putting our lives on hold.

if the banks did not encourage you to consolodate every 5 minutes most of us would not be in this position.

Staff that work on commision etc. to get more sales. don't you also think this is very wrong.

your ignorance is very sad.

It is shame the occasionally there is a very judgemental post on a site whose primary aim is to provide support and assistance to others. I am sure that Andy will have something to say about the tone of this post later on.

I noticed no one took you up on your first post, which I was glad to see. So you have made your second even more aggressive. None of us have ripped anybody off, and if you read a lot of the posts you will see that most of us do feel responsibility for our debts to some degree. That is why we are paying back as much as we can via an iva. The lenders also have some degree of responsibility too for carless lending.
Anyway a shame you feel the way you do. I hope someone one day will show you understanding when you most need it and support, as this forum does for a lot of people.
