I have 60 more payements to pay off my iva.Ive asked what I would have to pay if I was in a position to pay off in full.i was told that it was in the region of£74.000,ive been paying for just over three years,as my wife is retireing in the next few months,we would like to downsize, and have more money in our pocket,i been quoted a mortgage but with the proviso of paying off my IVA which we would not have anywhere that sought of money, any advise please. Thanks
Are you in an IVA ? 8 years is an unusually long time to be in one.
You wouldn't get offered a mortgage with an IVA on your credit record either. I think you might be in a Debt Management Plan, which can be never ending.
What firm are you with ?
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
I agree that this does not sound like an IVA and perhaps you need to speak to another firm and see exactly what sort of repayment plan you are on. This would make a huge difference to any advice given.
Certainly worth clarifying what debt solution you are in because, as has already been said, this could make a huge difference. Let us know and hopefully we can give you a better steer.
