Well everything has turned around for me!!!

Been made redundant today :(

Have not been paid since 27 October and will be paid 3 week money next Wednesday and then i have go through the govermant to claim back a week and my notice period?!?!
Is that right???

Also is going into an IVA classed as a CCJ? A job i am going for apparently check.

And 1 more question, Can i sign on the dole while in an IVA??? I said to myself years ago that i would never sign on but i have to do what i have to do.

thanks

Neil

What rotton luck Neil - but good news that you have a job lead to follow up.

An IVA is not classed as a CCJ, but it will be detailed on your credit file. And you absolutely must sign on the dole in the meantime - that is what it is there for, and you have paid your national insurance contributions for long enough so it is time for some payback.

And do contact us directly to discuss an action plan with regard to the next few months of the IVA.

Hello again,

Well, I'm still out of full time work, missed my payment last month on my IVA [:(] claimed job seekers when I was not supposed too!!

Feels like everything is going wrong again [:(]

I have been working on and off for the last few weeks but am really starting to struggle now as my money that I got through redundancie has ran out.

The police force in my area are now taking applications but have looked at there website and I can not apply because of my IVA.

Not sure what to do.

Neil

Neil, that's bad news. So sorry you can't find another job, and I know that police forces are funny about recruiting either bankrupt or IVA, which I think is stupid when you are sorting your money out.

It's a bit drastic, I know, but if you've no assets, have you thought of going bankrupt? You could wipe the slate clean and may not even have to pay an IPA.

Just a thought.

I don't have any assets at all! Apart from tv, xbox, laptop etc etc! I live with my girlfriend but nothing is In my name.

It is wierd as I can join the MOD police but not the normal police force!!!

I have tomorrow off so am going to have a look at my options.

If I go bancrupt what will happen to my girlfriend? Will she/the flat be affected in any way?

Neil

If you have no financial connection with your girlfriend, then she shouldn't be affected at all.

I think she may have to show that she contributes to the monthly budget, but that's all. If the flat is solely in her name, then it should be ok.

Give Melanie's office a ring, I am sure they will be able to help you out.
