Hi all
Just finished my 6 yr iva. Applied for and got a new job in IT.
Am currently filling in background checks. It asked are you insolvent? Am i classed as insolvent or is this if you have had your own company?
Many thanks in advance

Whilst in an IVA you are insolvent --Once you have your completion certificate you are not.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Speak to your IP and get them to send your completion certificate asap. You can then fill this in as you are not insolvent.

I agree. Once you put your IP on notice that this could affect your career they should speed matters up. It is arguable that you are not insolvent anyway as you have completed all your obligations to creditors and the delay is not your fault. However being on the IVA register is a problem so better to get that resolved. Bear in mind that your name will remain on the register for up to three months after completion so the sooner you get the case closed the better.
