Am I liable for joint depts now

MY WIFE WHO NO LONGER LIVES WITH ME HAS GONE BANKRUPT. AM I NOW LIABLE FOR ALL THE JOINT DEPTS.

Unfortunately yes is the only answer to give. Any thing that is joint with your name on the creditors can ask you for.

thats true derek, with joint debts the creditors can now persue for payment.

Hi Derek

The other posters are quite correct as you are jointly and severally liable for those debts which means that both you and your wife owe all of the money due to the creditors. Does your wife have any assets which would result in a distribution to the creditors from her estate?
