Just curious what peoples debts were when they entered into the IVA?
My wife and mine was £27,000
We hadnt missed one payment on loans, cards etc but each month was getting harder and harder, i ended up borrowing £700 from quick quid and thought enough is enough.

£83,000 between us both.
She was even withdrawing money on the credit card to pay back as the minimum payment per month - had to end sometime.

We are by no means the highest debtors on here.
She had a few credit cards and store cards and we had three joint loans between us

yes agree with you regarding hsbc they did the same with me orignal loan withppi was around £15,000 but this jumped to the end figure at the en of my iva to£17,374 and before the iva started i had paid two years of that loan off strangely the ppi refund is £8,600 well ill let that speak for itself maybe if they had not been so greedy then i might not have needed the iva and cleared my debts with them

18k unsecured in the IVA but that doesn't take into account bumping up my mortgage up by 30k and a 14k secured loan to consolidate and then the property crash meant I didn't have the equity to continue. Thank god in a way as I'd propably still be consolidating.
