each persons debt is individual to them and may have been built up as per their lifestyle.
We lived a nice lifestyle on hubby's salary, sadly we forget to drop the lifestyle after he was made redundant!
Me and my husband owed £52k, I thought originally I was the only one who owed anything like that amount and how silly I was.
I now appreciate I'm not alone and the forum has been my lifeline in accepting my debt and supports me through the IVA.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
Mitch, while it can be interesting (and sometimes comforting) to know the level of others' debts we're not here to judge. As Lesley says everyone's debts are individual and are often due to circumstances beyond their control.
Em, yeah, 40K was my estimate, IVA was based on 50K, creditor claims ended up at 45K ish, this meant my dividend was higher than proposed so that was good as it meant my IVA terminated immmediately at 5 years as I had exceeded the minimum % required by a few %

Last Payment - November 2011 - Completion Certificate received 2 weeks after last payment, Removed from Insolvency Register within 4 weeks after last payment.
Ours was around £50k but went up to £57k with charges during the 6 months of stopping payments before our IVA was approved, have nothing to show for it either!
