My clothes last me a fair time - even the cheap ones. I really don't need to buy expensive clothes

I like mid-range clothes and working in a college anyone who likes their nails and hair done remember that all students are looking for models they'll be level 3 students (well in our college they are) and always supervised by tutors. Very cheap treats as in massage/facials etc.,

There's always hairdressers etc looking for models so it can be done on the cheap.

Always? I don't think so. They are mobbed nowadays. My Mrs tried.
Its all very well being overly frugal but most of the time money needs to be spent!
My Mrs has to buy her own suits for work. She is not going to work looking like a poor relation. It reflects on her work unforunatley in how people perceive.
Be frugal but don't get obsessed. We'll all be going to Oxfam next!

Don't knock charity shops as you can get some bargains if you look carefully!

I buy mid price clothes for work and I don't think that I look like a poor relation!

I quite like charity shops - you can pick up some real bargains there and good quality stuff at that.

oh pleeeaaase...
Is this what we are reduced to?
I am not knocking this type of frugalness but it shouldn't be a recomendation. Fair play to you but please don't suggest it is correct to tell people to wear 2nd hand clothes and eat only from the "value" range of grocery's. It gives the wrong message!

i have always shopped at charity shops even when i was *well off*.My job meant i always had to wear business-like suits and look proffesional.I preferred to buy extremely good quality clothes from charity shops rather than only being able to afford high-street.Many a time the girls at work commented on my outfits-saying they couldnt understand how i could afford such lovely gear.My friends often borrow stuff from me knowing where i had bought items from-even though they wouldnt dream of going in charity shops.I use these even more so now as i would rather save money this way than having to sacrifice on other areas-such as food, school outings etc.Mind i dont buy for my son from them as hes only 8 and clothes are really cheap for him anyway.I reckon i would still shop in charity shops for myself even if i won the lottery!!!much better selection than the high street-and better quality!!Theres no room for extravagance in my iva-yet i can still look smart on a budget!!

I do think everyone has there own opinon of where they will shop, what they will wear etc etc. I am the same i dont buy from charity shops yet i have friends who do shop in a well known one in cheshire as they get bargins n ex celeb clothes which have been donated at good prices! I dont have the time to shop in charity shops as i have 2 taz devils who would be a nightmare why im looking for bargins, i work 40 hours a week. My days off are spent tidying, food shopping.
I have to say that sometimes bargin clothes can be good and other times not so good the quaility is not quite the same espesh pimark( which my husband hates) everything i buy from there which isnt a lot goes back either faulty or incorrect fit.

My clothes do last and i look for bargins in river island, debenhams, next or even next clearance shops are excellent as there is nothing wrong just last seasons stock which sometimes means only a few months. Also cheshire oaks is an excellent outlet village, even ebay have shops like Wallis, Littlewoods, Next, Coast ,Warehouse etc all at fab low prices.

Debenhams have excellent clothes for little ones and next they last years and wash like new. My youngest wears my oldest clothes which are still like new!!

I can luckily borrow jewellery and shoes from daughter so I can glam up a cheap outfit. She accessorises so much better than me and can alter clothes too so with a bit of a tweak here and there she'll make me a nice outfit. Sometimes she'll just change the buttons on something for about say £3.00 and it makes a cheapie cardi look amazing! Wish I had her textiles and designer talent!

At the minute my dress for the FF party at the weekend is being sorted, laces are being put in down the side so that it fits! lol

I prefer Asda clothing - Tesco is over priced and there's a poor choice.

I buy a lot of things like t shirts in Next as they are usually £4 each for a plain t shirt, and often 2 for £7 and they are better quality than Asda or Tesco.

Next is better quality than tesco and asda got to say i am missing my next store card :(
I never find anything in asda that i like, or if someone has something from there that i like if i go its not there! oh well.

Got to say tesco christmas party selection is excellent this year and it was resonable prices and more trendy! I was shocked!!

I love Asda clothes - my work trousers are from there, reduced from £10 to a fiver and they are lovely.
