Hi all,

Ive just had a letter requested all my paperwork for my 1st annual review and im starting to worry a bit. In november my mum/dad gave me some money because i was struggling. The money was to generally buy food , petrol, xmas presents etc as i was struggling big time. This obviously shows on my bank statements. Is this going to be a problem?

If you explain to your IP that the money was a gift off your mum then there shouldnt really be an issue.

hello sarah,i agree with lisa, try to fill in your expenditure part more accurate so you dont end up struggling, its natural for family to help when people are struggling.but your supervisor can adjust your monthly payments within reason without creditors consent.so it is important to keep in touch with your ip team if you are experiencing any problems.

It shouldn't be a problem as it was a gift to help you out. If you are struggling speak to your IP as they may be able to reduce your payments to help you!

Totally agree with Skippy and Lisa - speak to your IP and explain that you are struggling and ask if your payments can be reviewed.

The IP can reduce your payments by up to 15% without asking for the creditors permission.

Don't worry about the money. It was a gift and shouldn't cause you any problems.

I would say, if you really are concerned then ask your mum to write a letter for you to put in with your review paperwork.

I worry at annual reviews and when it's posted for some reason I stop worrying..that's just me as others have said a short note to explain the money was a gift to you should suffice. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
