Thanks for the positive comments, baldy. You are right, of course, but it's been a hard slog and I’m feeling a bit down today. As long as I keep my job, (it's not under threat as such, but I work in the public sector, so who knows?), we’ll be OK. Our house is quite shabby now and even though we have a bit of a contingency built up, we’re really reluctant to spend it on anything that isn’t absolutely essential. That will probably stand me in good stead for the future. When I read other poster’s problems, I appreciate that I’m in a good position. Roll on June 2013!

My hubby is on benefits and has never sent proof of his benefits. Other than with original proposal we have never sent off details from our mortgage.

Hey Jan...just saw your email about your BBQ in the summer...Can't understand why I didn't see it earlier...Would be good to come and meet a few people, so hopefully I will get up there....
Your support has been invaluable to me in my first year so would be a chance to say thanks!

Never had to send half of that stuff - it does all depend upon your IP.

I think a lot of us would have done that! To be fair, I've not needed to make a big purchase so far (touch wood!) other than tyres for the car and my parents bought those for us. I would probably have to provide proof if I needed to replace something big.

I could understand you having to go by your IP for anything you have to buy where it would prevent you from paying your agreed IVA payment.
But what you spend your budget on or how much you are able to save out of your budget is NOTHING to do with them.

There has been nurmerous posts on here from IP's stating how people are encouraged to save money from their budget. So to start being funny about how you are actually being more sensible with the way you are spending your income(After your IVA payment is made) is totally wrong in my eyes.

Whats wrong with your last 3 months bank staements and a P60.Why even bank statements if your sending in ALL your wage slips every month?
I guess it all boils down to TRUST and you get the feeling some times your not always being trusted! Rant over!!!!![:D]

I see exactly where you are coming from Baldy ... however, an IP has to jump through hoops, just as we do.

Yes, trust comes into it, to some extent. I am guessing, as you build up a relationship with your IP ( if you are fortunate enough to be able to do so), and trust builds they will scrutinise documents less. However, some people WILL try to pull the wool over their eyes and hide money. On the backs of those people we have to be scrutinized too.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Yes i understand IP's have hoops to jump through but you would think some of them think we are performing monkeys!!
Why is there such a huge difference in what every IP requires?
You just feel for some of the people on here who are maybe not being treated as maybe they should be......Having said that i know most people ARE being looked after by their IP's but there are one or two companys that seem to crop up who are a lot to be desired!
I guess lesson No1:Make sure you know what your signing up for! when looking for your IVA company.

I don't know why things are so different - it obviously just differs from company to company. I don't think the creditors see any of it, just the IP so they know what is coming in and going out.

I've never had to send banks statements or my P60. I just might do it this year though as I've already had it! Normally doesn't come until May/June!

Last year was the first time my Ip has asked for bank statements, i do find it odd as there is nothing in there!! im guessing its to check ive not taken any more credit or that i don't have an overdraft and also to verify my I&E against what im claiming im spending on.

P60 ive never sent off, as i never get it on time, wage slips are the usual 3 months worth. I always try and get a flat month or two leading up to my review to prove im not always getting overtime and to show my flat rate. Its a bit odd as i haven't heard from my IP in ages, guessing they might of delayed my review as i had a mini review in october.
