Hi Ruth, can't give specific agent that I am aware of but general advice I have read on here is to approach the agent upfront and tell them about your IVA - most will expect a larger deposit but if you tell them they normally work around things.
Hello from me too. We have recently approached a Letting Agency who we were previously with. In all honesty they were less concerned about a large deposit, more so about us having a Guarantor. However they did say that they are being contacted by more and more people who are currently in an IVA or Bankrupt. I think that in time Letting Agencies may have to consider their criteria as many who wish to rent may have previously had mortgages or debt problems. As other people have also said Private Landlords are also an option. Check out your local papers for listings. Good Luck.
We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars - Oscar Wilde. My blog: http://car1e.blogs.iva.co.uk/
I've rented ever since taking out my IVA 5 years ago, have lived in 3 different rented houses with different letting agencies, have always been up front and told the lettings manager straight away about my IVA, and have had no trouble at all in being approved. They seem more concerned about employment status and salary.
My advice - talk to them straight away, it's not a time for pride.
