I am now in month 51 out of 60. My IP is Freeman Jones. I have no regrets with my IVA I feel very safe and have done for the last 4+ years. Many think 5 year IVA's are too long I have to disagree it took me 5 years to get my debt into the bad situation it was and I think 5 years gives you an opportunity to get some control and thought back into your life. It is so hard living on a budget and not having the odd credit card as back up. I do have a holiday but my parents and boyfriend pay and I then pay them back through weekly installments I have just been away and like every holiday since my IVA its been paid for before I have gone, previous to the IVA I would be paying for months after. At times this is stressful because when you spending money has gone its gone !! I have found a new inner wealth and enjoy my home / garden / family so much more. To wake up this morning to a nice sunny day and a Sunday lunch to look forward to is so much nicer. You have to chose your IP company carefully I get on with my daily contact really well and am totally open and honest with her. I also have a line of communication with my actually IP who has been brilliant too. This forum was not around when I set out on this journey but all my friends here have been .... well to be totally honest words are cheap I say things on here even my closet family or friends would not understand or even begin to be able to help me with, so I wish you luck and you will make the choice which is the best for you. One last thought Melanie Giles is a very proffesional woman who gives her time on here for free, without her I would have faced many a sleepless night she gives every forum member time and a great deal of courtesy and I know if I every found myself here again .... I would be banging very loudly on her door for help...she is a true Angel and she does not even know it. K
