Hi all, I`ve entered into discussions with cccs after filling in an online form, and the options were, iva, a dmp, or bankruptcy. After chatting with them it seems an iva is the best route for me, and I shall be speaking to them again on thursday to get into the nitty gritty. They appear to be very pro. and helpful. I`ll let you all know how I get on.
Good luck with your IVA. I am sure CCCS will be very helpful to you.

Thanks for the welcomes all, go 4 broke, they didnt really offer any help with bankruptcy, as after our chat I agreed with them that an iva would be the better option. They did explain what would happen, the process etc. but I had researched a little myself and thought the iva route would suit me.
Jim
It was probably the same sort of chat that most of us have, just explaining the options open to you.

Fair enough Jim, if you had not done some homework already I would certainly recommend getting at least a second opinion.
However if you are happy that an IVA is the right route for you, you might want to look at a smaller provider, such as some of the IP's who post on this forum.
In general outline IVA's are much of a muchness these days, but what really counts is being able to discuss things with your supervisor if you have problems or changes in your situation during the course of the IVA.
A smaller, more personal firm will give you a much better chance of doing this.
While I agree that smaller firms are often better, some people who post on here are quite happy with the service they have received from the larger firms.
It all comes down to what the individual is happy with.

I'm one of them - got no problems with mine at the moment.

It is noticable that the vast majority of complaints and problems that appear on the forum relate to the larger firms, but statistically I suppose that should be expected as of course they have far more clients!

It is an interesting point about more of your money through a CCCS DMP compared to a commercial firms DMP goes to the creditor bank.
In reality the bank funds (and may I dare suggest) prefer CCCS proposed plans because it suits the bank and which might not necessarily be the most appropriate option for the debtor. CCCS only started IVA's because of this criticism. As to CCCS being a Charity - well they are registered as one but who outside the organisation benefits?
I hope skint of leek contacts Size 5 as suggested.

And I still maintain that it is each to his own. We have good and bad posts for most big companies on here.
It is who you feel comfortable with when you make contact, and we have had some good feedback about CCCS as well as negative.
