It looks to me as if an IVA would also work for you, but as you are already taking advice from Cleardebt and CCCS,I assume that they will have looked at this option for you as well as the DMP.

If you only have £250 left, how are you going to fund payments into the DMP of £725 per month?

reducing payment to creditors would easily leave me with enough to pay the dmp, maybe its how I explained it - new to this

i intend to only pay thro' the dmp, however, if its takes a bit for the payment to go out I thought you had to send creditors a token until the dmp company sent the 1st payment

cheers

You don't have to send token payments whilst setting it up - that is up to you.

Sometimes it can help keep creditors off your back, but for a short time (less than a month or so) it probably isn't worth it.

I only ever did one - and it kept them at bay for a week!

No it won't always work. But if you have a number of creditors it may work with at least some of them, so your overall volume of calls and pester letters may reduce.

The calls were always ignored, both on my home phone and mobile. The letters never bothered me at all, and I always used to reply to them.

Exactly - if we all sang from the same hymn sheet, this would be a boring forum!
