I like ebay too but am a bit fed up of paying for things immediately and not receiving them for weeks sometimes. I ordered something on Monday and it was 48hr courier delivery next day dispatch and I have waited for 2 days and still not here. Wouldnt mind but I wanted the stuff for the weekend and cant do anything now.

Hey guys,

If you don't want to wait until the very end of the auction to bid for the item, there is a little program called JBidWatcher.

Basically you enter the item number into the program and your ebay username and password and how much you want to pay for the item. Then it will wait until the last 30 seconds or so (you cna change the amount of time, I have mine set at 2 seconds), and it "snipes" the auction bidding up until either you win or it goes past what you told it was your maximum!

You can also target several auctions at once...so if you wanted to buy a book on "Winning the Lottery" and there were 3 copies ending in the next few days, you could enter all the auction numbers for these items and set it to target them all, and if it wins one, it will automatically cancel the other "snipes" so you don't end up with loads of copies!

hey connie, what sort of things does your friend sell on ebay that she was able to give her job up. I love ebay and would love to make a living out of it. I think it would take months to list all the stuff I have accumulated over the years! v.w

I have sold all sorts of things but it's all been my own stuff.
I've sold so much Ebay asked me to sign up as a business!!
The thing is my wardrobes still seem over full. The shed is still too full up. I've even sold garden ornaments out of my garden!! The same man came and brought 3 of them at different times.
I must say I've sold all my best stuff. I had a lovely Chanel handbag that I got over £100 for. I also had some Chanel shoes that I got £30 for and I can't walk in them anymore so it wasn't too distressing to sell them.
I had four vacuum cleaners! I can't believe why I have dragged all this stuff around with me.
My husband even had some old Rudge motorcycle bits that he didn't exactly know what they were but he put them on and they fetched £400!
It's surprising what you can find to sell.

oh ladyc you should see our house. Had to sell ours cos couldn't afford it and moved in with my dad. Instead of having a clear out before we moved I wouldn't throw anything away, I have even kept empty boxes and bubble wrap so when I sell my stuff I don't have to buy packaging! I just don't know if I could bear my things selling for just 99p if only one person bids. On the other hand, I love it when I win a bid for 99p. Tee hee.

I might buy for 99p but I never sell for anything less than the least I would find acceptable. If you sell for 99p it's not worth the bother. By the time you get Ebay fees, then Paypal fees you end up with nothing.
I made the mistake once of selling an item for £1.50. The person lived in Southern Ireland. I sent a message and said the postage would be more but I didn't like to say the full amount si I paid some. By the time the fees were all taken off it had cost me money to sell it . To top it all the person complained im their feedback about the cost of the postage and the time it had taken. I sent her a message pointing out that if she checked the package she would see that it had been posted the same day plus the postage was more than she'd paid. She was full of apologies but the feedback had been left.
You can't win em all but we'll have a damn good try!!!

I am a total Ebay addict and my friends and family call me "Del BOy" because of it!!

I buy and sell and have very few bad experiences throughout the few years I have used it.

I have made a steady £150-200 a month througout last summer clearing out my junk and selling on.

The great thing is if you sell on Ebay and then get paid into your Paypal account, you then have a reserve of money to buy any items that you may want without touching your own money (In the bank I mean)

We don't look anywhere else if we need something as you can often save £'S by looking on Ebay first.

Recently my brother in law who came to visit, who has a very successful business and spends his money at expensive stores, was very impressed with our dining table and chairs. He was gob smacked when I told him the table cost £40 and I got 6 faux leather brown chirs for £15 each.

He was inspired by this and has just won himself a table and 6 chairs for £130!!

It is quite embarrasing however when I point out all of the items I have in our house from Ebay, such as the sofa, beds, wall canvases, even a large indoor plant!!

The good thing is you can buy new or used and still save a few quid.

A good tip is to use the snipes or open up two pages and have your highest bid waiting to be confirmed on one page and keep refreshing the item you would like to win on the second, when it gets down to the last 3 seconds confirm your bid on the first page and fingers crossed you should win. I use this method every time I bid, sometimes get snipped but the majority of the time win.

I also get a bit cheeky and ask the seller if they have a buy it now price even if they have not put their item on ebay as that. Sometimes you get a bargain. I did this with our leather settes (3+2) got them both for £200 they were only 1 year old - beats paying 2k for a new one lkike we did in our credit days only to have our young children wreck it!

Optomist just checked through my cd's as I thought I had the cd you were after, was it an orange cover with yellow writing?

Couldn't find it but it is now bugging me!!

Would of gladly sent it to you if I found it as we have 500+ cd's and need to get rid as we are strugging to store them all.

Look out for them on Ebay lol!!

Sorry mother in law is here so it has been quite nice to sit and chat - even though it has been one way lol [:I]

Your usual domestic assets should have been specifically excluded from the IVA, so they are yours to sell at your own free will.

I think Ebay is great...I never had one problem, and have made a lot of money. Great deals if you buy also

I'm sure there's a tutorial on ebay for new sellers. Start with little, easy things like clothes and shoes. You'll be away before you know it ladyh,
