Optomist...check out Amazon.co.uk. they have a system where they let customers sell their CDs online and the customer then sends the cd straight to you! you dont have to bid as they are set prices, and possibly cheaper.
I have sold a few Cds on there and every time i search for a cd there are always several available...Check it out! :o)

Thanks for that jpj - I have had a look at Amazon this morning - what a great site. I have a day off today so will do some serious investigation later. There are 8 copies of the CD I was searching for - cant believe it!!!

Thanks for the advice.

I was a powerseller on ebay for 5 years before my IVA. They were a big help in killing off my little business! I use ebid now, it's smaller and not as many bidders but you can get some good stuff. If your selling anything it's free as well!
There's a couple of auction snipe tools but I've never used them, takes all the fun away!
Happy Bidding!

Ebay is great for buying things, but so many people think they have a fab idea of things to sell on there and then find out that a hundred other sellers have thought of it too! its a tough marketplace and not always easy to make money..but easy to save it!

There's a few snipe tools that I've used, auction raptor being one but they do charge, however they do offer a free trial. They work by you adding the items No from ebay and then you add your highest bid. You can set the time your bid is placed, I had mine set to 2 secs before end of auction, that way it seems to keep the price down-as they bidders are not upping the price, and you don't have to sit infront of the computer hoping nobody snipes you at the last minute. I think I've only lost about 3 items using a snipe tool and I use ebay quite a lot. Give it a try, if you use ebay a lot and buy a lot of items, a snipe tool can pay for itself. Happy bidding!!!!![:D]

Haha, I know what you mean!!!! I guess some people like the thrill of the bidding and will still place manual bids, the sniping software has been around for a few years now and it doesn't seem to be causing too much of a problem yet.

Well - I suppose its not so bad to be beaten by a snipe!!!!

The CD I am after is long deleted so I expected it would be quite expensive to get hold of. However, the copies available on Amazon range from £11 (used but playable)to £76 !!!!!! (what!!) - (used but "as new"). The £76 one is from a seller in the USA though. I am going to go for one on offer at £12 plus p+p - a UK seller - and Amazon take Visa Electron too!!

These sites seem great for CDs - now nearly everyone seems to have an I-Pod or similar many shops seem to have cut right back and only sell the current bestsellers.
