Hi admin
Yes I think any companies wanting the info should at the least have to state the reason why they want the info and should be banned from mass mailing.

I agree that the register shouldn't be available online to all and sundry. I appreciate that BR is public, but one my details have been published in the local paper (I'm not convinced addresses need to be published there either) why does it then have to be available on the internet? My main worry is for someone who might be trying to start a new life after escaping an abusive partner - why should that be put in jeopardy?

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

I would agree entirely with the restrictions however my only concern would be that a petition could be counter productive. Raising this as a major issue would bring the website to the attention of a wider number of people.

Hi
I have started an online petition with Downing Street to restrict the use of the Insolvency Register.
Please read the petition and sign the petition if you agree

I will sign too. I wanted to mention this although my details are not on the insolvency site, I recieve letters almost daily from companies wanting to help me with my debt problem. How the hell do they know??? Some of them even state that it wont cost me a penny, am I missing something?? I cant see how handing over my disposible income isnt going to cost me anything. Also some of them 'help' you through the BR process if that is the best route to take, well hold your hand through the difficult process of BR to be precise about it.

News and circumstances of the debt problem must be visible to these people, I just dont understand how they found it and my name and address, the letters usually address me by my christian name.
