Hi is anyone out there currently serving in the forces that has experience with Defence Vetting? regarding DMP or IVA? My husband is cuurently in a DMP and cannot go for an IVA as we do not fufill Northern Rocks new criteria (which appears to change minute by minute). But he is up for renewal of his vetting and we're worried about the amount of debt and no real signs of getting out of it. Any advice would be great!

Melanie Giles is ex forces and may know something about it. I'm sure she will be along to post later.

I was Developed Vetted when I was in the Army, and can tell you that it should only affect him if he is doing certain jobs. Due to the sensitive nature of this type of thing, I would rather not post any more details on a public forum. Happy to chat to him or you off-line if you feel that might be worthwhile.

Can you tell me a little more about your Northern Rock debt, and why you have been told that you do not fit NR "criteria". I put a lot of IVAs in front of this creditor and rarely experience problems.

NR have changed dramatically their criteria in recent weeks (as I have posted on other threads on this forum) so it is best to seek out a practitioner who has the wherewithal to give you the appropriate advice for free. Visit www.iva.com and select one or two to have a chat and hopefully decide on one who you feel comfortable with. Good luck.

I would recommend speaking to Melanie as she has a good record with Northern Rock and she is ex forces.
