I am presently in an iva. I am living in
the property jointly owned by myself and my
ex partner. We have a joint mortgage on an
interest only basis with only around 10000
equity in property. MY ex partner currently
pay half the mortgage but is now saying that
he is no longer prepared to do so and want either me to buy him out which is impossible
for me or for him to buy me out, and says that there is no way he will agree to re mortgage property at the end of my iva. He now wants to move on with his life, and my iva is preventing him from selling the house#and doing so. He say he is prepared to give me 5000.00 for me to sign over house
to him. I have been in my iva now for 16 months paying 350.00 per month, my debts
accumulated to around 45000.00. Is there anything I can do to settle this iva early
by offering the money he is offering me, or
is out of the question, failing this what will happen at the end of the iva if he refuses
to help me remortgage property.

I suggest that a sale of the property would be a more appropriate way forward, as you do not appear to be able to afford the ongoing mortgage without your partner's support. If you are prepared to consider this, then the IVA may be able to continue if you can cut costs by moving into rented accomodation.
