Do you mean you wan to open a bank account for when you start an IVA with someone who is not one of your creditors, if so the Co-op are really good. Dont do it online though, ring them up. I did, I even told them I was in an IVA and they still accepted me. You want the cash minder account and you get a VISA debit card with it. I Use this account for everything, my wages and all my direct debits and bills and it is fine.

Just ring them. You will find on this forum that it the probably the most IVA friendly account.

Hi key310865 - welcome to the forum. As edward says co-op cashminder is a great basic account to have (this is who we are with). I believe Nat West, Nationwide and Yorkshire bank also accept people with IVA's for basic accounts.
Good luck!

That's ok, these days you'll find that most banks agree with IVA's. Northern Rock are known to request an extension to 72 months rather than 60 and Egg and Barclaycard requested the same with ours (although we got this retracted). We had HSBC, MBNA, Egg, Tesco and Barclaycard and they all agreed ours with the exception of MBNA who didn't vote (they are quite well known for not voting at all).

How far are you with the IVA application?

Hi
I have filled and returned all the forms, waiting for my meeting date, fingers crossed will be sorted by mid / end of month, if a company don't vote am I correct in presuming there unused vote is added to the majority or is it taken as accepted

With the meeting, you need 75% by value of the creditors who vote on the day to agree for it to be approved.

If it is accepted, anyone who hasn't voted, or who voted no, is bound by the IVA.

Which company are you with?

HSBC were the biggest holders of my debt and they voted positively, it's all individual and your IP will have the best offer on the table to your creditors and they should see this and vote accordingly. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

A lot of us are in the same boat keys, none of my friends know about our situation.

Harrington Brooks have mixed reviews on here (as do a lot of companies to be fair!) but if you are happy with them then fine. Let us know when your meeting is.
