The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.

All IP's that post on here are known as IP's and don't try and hide the fact.
Other posters, like myself, are glad we get to keep any of the payrise/ overtime as we got ourselves in this mess and are glad we get to keep some of the extra instead of having to pay it all to our creditors, who we owe the money to, which is what could have happened if our creditors wanted to, but for the work and efforts our IP's have put in to make it a bit more affordable.

I don't mind the question being asked in the slightest. It is not unreasonable to assume that people that have a professional profile on this forum may receive direct enquiries from members of the public who may have seen such a profile. What I would point out is that no professional is allowed by the rules of the forum to "self promote", nor would we seek to do so. It is also fair to point out that, even if such enquiries are received, it would be in a vastly disproportionate ratio to the effort and spare time that is given freely to try and help people. You will find experts posting at all times of the day and night, for which they receive no reward.
I can only speak for myself, but I joined this forum anonymously as I am passionate about my work. I was delighted to be invited by the forum to post as a professional, at no time did I do so for personal gain, which continues to be the case, and I am sure every other expert/professional on here will tell you exactly the same.
Regards.

I found the forum through another user and she was the one that recommended someone to me, however, she did also say there are a few others if you want to ring a few.
We have CHOSEN to go with Melanie Giles team and at no time has she ever solicited our business. The fact that these people commit their own time and expertise for the benefit of us here is amazing, did you happen to notice that Mel was on the forum at gone two this morning, and I'll bet she was in the office at the usual time.
All IPs will have something different to say because each deals with different people, the whole idea behind an IVA is INDIVIDUAL, no two will ever be the same. And from the posts I've seen it also depends on how old the IVA is as to the rules that were followed.
Your £15 payrise would need to be discussed with YOUR IP, the kind folks on here can only tell you what might happen with their clients.
As ST said, we got ourselves in to this mess, and always completely and fully intended paying every single penny back and if it weren't for one stupid silly error we would not be following this route now. If i won the lottery this weekend, cheques would be going in the post for a full and final immediately, and a cheque for services rendered so far to my IP, no way would I expect the level of support I've had for free.

With respect, if you won the lottery you would be required to make that payment regardless of your good feeling towards your creditors and IP.
In defense of the original post it is only prudent to to consider that support forums such as this are not completely free of the revenue stream hunting sharks, even with the hard efforts of the admin and moderators. Fair point, or not? However the aforementioned and published professionals on this site do indeed deserve a drink off everyone who has found support and answers to their questions for zero cost.
Very unfair and a slap in the face for all the professionals who give up their spare time to help us all - most of whom are not clients and never will be.

Having not yet signed anything and not yet in an IVA we wouldn't be required to do anything. I would do it anyway as I know our life would be easier without the debt.
The point I was making is that the IP deserves every penny they get, the work they put in especially at the early stage I am at is all without any payment. They don't ask for anything in advance. So if we won the lottery and paid the debts it would mean we don't need an IVA, I don't know what the rules are regarding payment to IPs in this scenario but we would be sending a cheque off regardless.
I feel the professionals on the forum help everyone and I have never seen self-promotion, they all work within the terms and conditions of the forum giving their time and a lot of it outside of office hours to assist all posters for free. I hope the forum grows with posters at professional level as this will assist all new posters to get first hand advice as some posters don't like to ring anyone in the first instance.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
SG6646, I'm not sure I understand your comment about 'revenue stream hunting sharks'. No one is allowed to self promote on this forum, and any posts that contain advertising are removed as soon as possible.
None of the professionals have ever asked for my business! Revenue hunting sharks trawl the insolvency register looking to prey on vulnerable people...certainly not people who give their time so generously.
