I know I am old cos I scored 14, however we must have been posh because we always had a bathroom, but had gas lights until I was 9 and got a telephone the same year. To teach us how to answer it properly my father went to the phone box over the road and rang our number, and by brothers and I took it in turn to answer until we got it right!!

Green Shield Stamps anyone?
the one that sticks in my mind was the offer just inside the back cover, it was 950 "books" for a Ford Escort Mk1.
My dad also saved the coupons from players No.6.
just imagine that now, an incentive to smoke!.
Esso Blue paraffin, what a death trap those heaters were, i was given 2 bob to fetch a gallon from our local shop. A gallon was 1/6d, and i had the 6d change for sweets for fetching it.

Good grief, I do remember Green Shield stamps. Also collecting a dinner service through the Co op. How I loved that dinner service, wonder where it is now?

Remember when the green shield stamp showrooms became Argos -- well, they did down here. Our Esso Blue came in a mobile shop ( very posh)... boom boom boom boom .... esso blue.

Talking of which ... do you remember the esso tiger and those tie on tails they used to give away ?

And ... everything went well with shell, shell , shell.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Green Shield stamps - I remember them well!! We used to collect cigarette cards and the ones that came with PG Tips tea I think it was.

I remember the tails and I also remember when they had stick on bullet holes to put on your car!!! I was young and foolish then so I had them!

I hate seeing stickers on cars now!!!
