As luck would have it my hubby got the promotion he went for at work so if everything works out (i.e his new basic pay covers the cost of his monthly car excess payment) then we shouldn't need to have propose the variation - yippee! I've worked it out on paper to take effect of the slightly revised I&E due to job changes and it looks good and manageable again!

Also halifax approved our joint account so we now have a separate account for our food & housekeeping to try and run things more efficiently. Fingers crossed it works. 19 months in and I think we have finally got the control that we needed and it's all looking good!!!

And lastly 'budget' is the new buzz word!
