I got £1.98 back from the cashback thing a few weeks back when I went but I've not been back to use as I'd have to travel 16 miles to get there. That particular day we had an appointment there so decided to shop...typical eh!
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Gosh that's terrible! I only shop with Asda in the store not online.

I've actually done my last 2 shops online, but cos I work from home I can get cheap delivery cos I can get it any time of day, and given the price of petrol at the moment, there really isn't anything in it price wise.

I am horrified to read these posts about "earmarking" funds - how dare they. That is the same as going into a store, having to hand over £50 whilst you look around, buy some other things and then leave the store and they give you your £50 back in 3 days time, how on earth is this practise allowed to happen?

I'm sure there is something in the small print but I think someone should bring it to Watchdog's attention as hundreds of people must get caught out with it. And as Lemsip says, if it applies to the accounts without credit faclities, it is usually hitting those that need their funds the most.

Hope no-one else gets caught out with this.

Agree Tina - it shouldn't happen. Perhaps people should complain to Asda about it,

I do Tesco online shopping every month and i know they do reserve something in your account, i always have a £2 transaction appears on my account when i do it, then it disappears the day after the delivery so they must check you have the money in your account.
I had a bad experience with Asda a few years ago after an online shop...they copied my credit card and someone went spending for £2k.!

I have heard of this practice and they don't release the money for 10 working days which is no good to anyone who needs it. I certainly wouldn't take the risk! Asda is cheapest by far, have the 10% price promise and got a coupon for 1.98 but you have th take your receipt and coupon back to the store you did your shopping and on that occasion I had shopped when I was out for the day so wasn;t worth the trip back

Maybe we should get a mass protest sorted to bombard asda with emails asking for this practice to end?

But think of the points Susieq73!
On a serious note I have considered getting shopping delivered but after reading this thread think i'll stick to the old fashioned methods.

i justify having it delivered by not dragging my 4year old round supermarket! it helps you budget and i go and pick fresh stuff from local and morrisons .Only once had issue of been charged twice and they refunded the money next day! .They do removed £2 from account to check active but dont remove money until youve signed to say recieved all in all happy with tesco and love the points too!

Even with kids I couldn't justify the charge, my daughter was just told that she couldn't have anything when we used to take her with us. I can walk (and frequently do) to my Tesco so really cannot justify the cost of delivery.

Disgraceful and certainly not customer friendly either! I had a problem with Asda regarding the way my partner was treated by one of their staff, he is deaf and she made fun of him, unfortunately for her and the other two members of staff she was repeating her encounter to, i was within ear shot so complained two days after the event in writing, i finally got some satisfaction after 3 months, several letters, one of which went to their Chief exec and numerous phone calls later, i only use Asda as a stop gap and not for my main shop, disgusting aftersales service.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

That's not good Orchid and I'm glad you had some satisfaction from the company.

I still, and will continue to do so, use Asda as my main shop. I've had no problems at all with their after sales service.

Here's a little fact that makes online shopping a little more apealling :

In a recent study it was discovered that the handles on shopping trollies contained more bacteria than the supermarkets toilets: 72% had faecal bacteria and half had traces of E.coli!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Nope - still doesn't make me want to shop online! I'll just wear gloves!

But if you saw some of the staff in my local Tesco Foggy you'd take your chance with the trolleys!
