Hi, I am in my last five months of an IVA with Kingsgate Insolvency. I have asked time and again for an end date for my IVA to terminate. To date they have not supplied one. If Kingsgate try to extend my IVA past this year who can I complain to? I under companies like this want to make as much money out of people in debt but my sole aim is to conclude this as soon as possible. Any advice or group I can make a future complaint would be helpful.

Hi daytona.

You need to keep pushing them - insist on speaking to your IP rather than a member of the office staff.

I don't think they can just extend it without informing you first.

Did you have an equity release clause?

Your end date will be when you have made the correct amount of monthly contributions, so if it is a 60 month plan, then after month 60 its done, unless it can be extended for whatever reasons are in your terms and conditions, with 5 months left I would have thought you would have been informed by now if it was to be extended for any reason.

Regards.......Howard

Well done on almost getting to the end. As Jan says insist on speaking with your IP rather than a staff member to gain a definitive answer. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi Daytona - congrats on nearly completing. Unless you have any payment breaks to tack on, arrears to make up or payments in lieu of equity then you should finish as planned at 60 payments. Do push them though for confirmation. They can only run your iva within it's own terms so don't worry about arbitrary extensions xx

I would insist on speaking with the IP direct to clarify... I would also then start to plan your debt free life and consider how you are going to deal with the additional money each month .... I really would have thought if there was any thoughts of an extension that this would have been discussed and agreed by now ... Just think Xmas this year will be a debt free one !!
