hi myself and my husband have started an IVA this year and we are struggling with it already, we have gone through a company called RE10. my husbands wage has dropped since it was agreed will we be able to re negotate. i feel at my wits end, my husbands working all houres but he is a self employed landscaper and every thing including the weather has turned on us. thanks

Hi Natalie and welcome.

You really need to phone your IP and tell them of your change in circumstances. There is no point struggling on as sooner or later you won't be able to afford to pay it. It can't be doing your health much good either with all the stress.

I don't know the company, but I am sure they will help you sort something out.

Your IP ought to have built in some flexibility for your husband's payments, especially as his business is very seasonal. In my self-employed cases, I always have a three month window for payments - so if your monthly payments are £300 per month, you have to pay over £900 within a three month period, but it does not matter when. Also your IP may be able to reduce the payments by up to 15% without further agreement from creditors, although the IVA will have to be extended to suit this.
