Please can someone help. We had our creditors meeting on 2nd September and all went well and the IVA was approved. We have made two payments so far. My problem is that we are getting harrassed by Mercers, sometimes 3 or 4 times a day. We keep calling them back and explaining everything but they are rude and said that Barclaycard have not received the IVA report and therefore have instructed them to continue to collect the debt from us. Barclaycard voted yes! I want to take this matter further, is there a way I can make a formal complaint about these people. They call early in the morning on a Sunday, they wake my baby up when she has just got to sleep and I am just sick of it. We are getting more calls from them than we were from all our creditors put together before we went into our IVA. Can anyone help, I do not want them to get away with this. Thanks
I had the same trouble with Mercers - I wrote to the CEO of Barclaycard UK with a copy to the FSA and it stopped; a letter was received from the Head of Complaints Dept (!!) apologizing for the mis-filing of the IVA papers!
Speak to your IP as well and ask them to contact Mercers to get the calls to stop.
If you do speak to them, get them to check the Insolvency Register so they can see your name on there.
You could also think about changing your phone number.
David - I have emailed Andy and asked if he can forward my email address to you as you seem to have a problem with the frugal friends page.

Point them towards the Insolvency Register too as you're bound to be on there, they are the most annoying persistant debt collectors ever! My husband ended up shouting and saying check the register, we had no more calls!
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
I ignored calls from them until the day the IVA was approved, informed them of it and I have never received another call from them.

Your IP should be dealing with this for you but putting something in writing yourself enclosing a copy of the Chairman's report should help. Ask to speak to a manager about their complaints procedure as well.
Good luck.

We have had this happen so many times, and it doesn't seem to matter whether the IP intervenes or you write to them they take no notice.
I was lucky, but you do find that the calls drop off eventually.
