Not good vimto - my wife was allowed to continue paying into her pension, it was never queried.

When I was going through the IVA process, I offered to cancel my pension contributions, but was told that it would not be necessary as creditors realise how important it is. I only pay the minimum contribution, not additional payments.

I would have to agree with Artemischild on this one, i have sent emails for the attention of my IP and never received a reply back from them even though it is them who i want to answer the query. I really have to say that when i first took my IVA out in 2006 with DFD there was no problem with contacting them, speaking to someone etc but nowadays it is impossible and that blasted automated woman cuts you off after approx 10 minutes. I always thought that any problems i had would be during my IVA and not nearing the end, how wrong was i? xxx
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

Agree Orchid, years ago it was answered in 3 rings! these days you have to ring at least 4x10 mins to get an answer to only be told 'computer says noooo'!!

I've now received all my original bills etc that were sent initially..is this normal? The letter suggests I should keep them safe..is the shredder not safe enough

hi vimto, at the proposal stage of my IVA i was asked to supply the terms and conditions of my pension i guess this was to check i was paying minimal contributions, also i have a car loan, when this completed i was to pay in all of this money too, it is a HP agreement the creditors have agreed to you paying alongside the IVA and is not classed as income and therefor not eligable for the 50% rule for paying over pay raises etc.
so it would seem standard stuff really, just a shame DFD have left it until now to explain, and not dealt with it at the proposal stage as they surely shoul have.

Would it be possible to ask Admin to get Declan to take a look or re-title this for Declan's attention. We were with DFD, my pension was never questioned, however we did have car finance for £112 per month, and when this finished we had to increase the IVA payment by this amount. This is quite commonplace. We never got to speak to our IP during our IVA either.

I'm not so bothered about having to up the payments once the car finance has ended as its what we signed up to really, just annoyed about the pension thing. I've spoken to HR and they've said that the minimum I could contribute would be 0.01%..which I would most certainly not be happy to do! On the plus side, HR have confirmed that I wouldnt be able to change anything until the end of March 2013 anyway!
And the variation thing is annoying me too..[:(]
Am I good to shred all the bills etc they've sent me back??

I would advise you keep everything. I kept all my old statements from the accounts covered by the IVA, and all my IVA documentation. Pack them in a box and put them in the loft. At the end of the IVA and only when you have your completion certificate would I shred anything. If fact, I have been completed almost a year now and my paperwork is still in the loft.

We have the paperwork from the IVA but not kept anything else since then.
