Me too, I had Cole, with an abscess on his leg caused by that tearaway frankenstien cat from across the way. I am sick of that thing picking on my babies, it needs to be castrated, it scent marks my front garden and woe be tide my cats ever going on their own front garden. I am now getting Gemma on the case, I give the cat a head start by opening the door and then she is up its backside and means business.

I must admit the only thing i have found difficult so far is not being able to treat myself to any new clothes. When i recently took my daughter clothes shopping i had just enough money to buy the things that she needed & that was it & even though it was hard i came away very proud of myself as not one single penny was spent on me! now,pre iva i wouldn't have been able to resist & would've come home with bags full of stuff.so it was a good dose of therapy, but i wouldnt want to do it too often!![:)]x

kallis3...re my post above....i didnt mean i find it "easy "to have changed my thoughts re credit and cash.....what i meant was how easy it was when i did have credit cards...i never gave much though to using it...if i saw something or needed to pay for something then i just got out the plastic and used it.....but now i am pretty much the opposite in that i dont have the credit card...

and if i am honest..i do miss it..i miss the impulse buying...the adrenaline rush of something "to cheer me up"..like a surprise weekend away for us...or a night in london at a theatre for a birthday treat for family.....i would still like to do that and altho i am 24 mths into my IVA..i cant say with absolutely assurance that if i was still in possession of a credit card...that i def.wouldnt be tempted ...i probably would...so i am still in the relapse time scale i think....gotta blog it out i think

Ignore me MTL, I misread the post. Didn't mean to imply anything!

I know what you mean about the impulse buying though. At weekends, we would go out 'just to look.' Never did end up just looking though.

When we first had a tumble dryer, many years ago, we went out to get a venting kit for it. 1st trip - no kit but a microwave. 2nd trip - no kit but a dishwasher. It was 3rd time lucky!

It's the holidays abroad I miss more than anything else.

no problem kallis....and yes...i desperately miss the sun...one year we went to lanzarote and had such a fantastic time that when we got home we rebooked it to go again 3 mths later...and "treated" our daughter and her friend too....well...when i say "treated" waht i really meant was VISA did that and of course i think we are now paying 32p in pound 5 years later for that same treat.....and i can guess with the grotty weather we have had this summer that if visa was still my buddy we might have done the same...

but thats why being in an IVA is such a good thing....

MTL, we love the States, and have paid three times (on the plastic) to take daughters friend with us. Twice to Florida and once to New York.

In the past we paid for my step kids friends to come on holiday with us to France.

Never thought about the consequenses, always thought we would be ok.

Just goes to show how wrong you can be!
