Just been watching the news, looks even more gloomy than ever for us all[:(]

As a teacher they have said we will get a pay rise of 1% a year up until 2015. In effect, my salary will not have risen since 2008.( Another pay cut in effect)

How many more people will be forced into debt management,IVA or Bankruptcy before this economic mess is sorted?

I am just embarking on this journey and hopefully if my IVA and my wife's IVA are accepted then we will be one step closer to financial freedom in 2018.

In one sense i feel ashamed of having amassed such a large debt( roughly 50k of mine and 30K of my wifes), but then I see the mess the politicians have made of the economy over the last 10 years and then don't feel so bad.

What are your thoughts and how do you fare?

To be honest, I thought it was pretty fair in the circumstances, I'm glad to see unemployment benefits rises being reduced when employed people are not getting wage rises, I am pleased to see that the fuel duty rise is being scrapped and also that the personal allowance is increasing so at least the poorer workers of society can earn a bit more before they pay tax, I'm a public sector worker and after a 3 years freeze and very grateful for a 1% rise when others are still stuck with no increase in sight.

I think in the current economic climate, we couldn't have expected much better and to be honest I was expecting a lot worse, I do however think that they need to seriously clamp down on tax loopholes for businesses and the rich and hope they stick to this

Thankfully it's not going to affect us too much. The scrapping of the fuel duty rise is a welcome relief.

I agree with Lem.

The current pay freeze cost me over £6k in a lost rise (which I will never get back) and we are looking forward to a couple of years capped at 1%

Our workforce has been decimated, meaning those of us that are left have to do the work those that have left used to do and our targets still gert tighter.

But ... it could have been worse, I guess. I am not sure about the reduction in Corporation tax when those it would make a significant difference to don't pay it anyway !!!

Glad Fuel duty rise was scrapped.

And agree the non-employed should suffer caps like the rest of us.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

It could have been a lot worse.

I am seriously concerned about the number of families who are using foodbanks now, very scary really.

The only thing that annoyed me was seeing MP's laughing as they discussed the budget. It's ok for them with their salaries and expenses.

Thats right Kazzafunk. I have achieved all my targets, way above national averages, get good results year in year out from my students and never get rewarded for it. Osbourne and the others before him, screw things up and often get promoted for their faillings. Where did i go wrong?[:(]
