Hi all

I posted a link a few months ago from the BBC "Have Your Say" website. The question was "Are you worried about debt?" and you would not believe the sanctimonious replies from some people. Sensible I have similar amounts of debt and nothing to show for it. I could have applied for an IVA 18 months ago and my debt would be much less but I didn't know about it. So I continued to rob Peter to pay Paul. I didn't lose my job or go through a divorce. I just felt that given my occupation I should portray a certain lifestyle that I clearly couldn't afford. Jane and Sensible please remember we are not bad people. Just people bad with money. And like Kerri says, "let him without sin cast the first stone." I do so hate do-gooders. I don't judge other people for the lives they lead so why do they feel obliged to offer opinions on people in our situations.

Rant over but Jane please do keep posting.

Dave
Regards

Dave

Jane

So sorry that this thing happened, I really am. If someone really needs to kick you when youre down, they themselves must have a sad and miserable existance. Rise above it and rise above them.

We do not need to be judged by anyone, there are people who decide to make us feel bad, who seem to want to have a go at us. Deny or dismiss what we have to face every day, it is quite a scary and hurtful thing and it makes us very unwilling to post. There is none so blind as those who will not see.

Please let us Know how you are doing??

Good luck

LILY

fly me up to where you are beyong the distant star, I will wish upon tonight, to see you smile, only for a while, to know youre there, a breath away is not too far, to where you are.

Jane

I suggest that you report this person to the police. What he is doing constitutes threatening behaviour and is completely unacceptable.

I agree with Melanie - report him to the police. No-one has the right to be abusive and threatening to you. Don't let him put you off posting - we'll miss you if you go!

Hi Jane
You have done the right thing getting your life sorted. He is the one who must not have a life if he has nothing better to do than email you abusive emails! Block the email address and move on to the rest of your life.

Sensible
I have just read the post and I was so shocked to read how human beings can act in a totally shamefull manner! Funny thing is they are all wanting to know how to get good credit ratings! they will be begging to post on here soon when they hit some finacial trouble. They are giving their opinion on something they have no information on or experience with. Glad you are a better person than them and could see them for what they are, although it must of been upsetting to read.

Glad you are both around on here as us newbies need all the help we can get.

Smile it makes people wonder what you have been up to!

Sensible

I read them too, what a judgemental and nasty lot they are, just imagine a suicidal poster having to read that??

I was upset for you too.

jane i agree with the others, block the emails and the ones you have i would forward to the police and let them act on it, what a nasty nasty person this is, you are far better than they are and they know it.

sensible, what was done to you was also very rotten, and i am saddened that people think that people who are suffering financial difficulties is a laughing matter or something they should nit pick into when they really donot understand anything about it.

they have no right to be judgemental against anyone, and how dare they think they are better people just because they have quote "excellent credit scores" didn;t we too when we were paying on time, but have faced facts and dealt with our mistakes.

both of you should hold your head up and one day one of these scum bags will be in the same situation and would be grateful for your help and advice and even comfort, don't let anyone put you off posting here and get the help and comfort that you so deserve right now.

take care both of you
kerri

Thanks for all the posts. I know there are more people out there willing to help than hinder. It's easier to criticise than help. I hope Jane can put this behind her as I have and look forward.

Part of the reason for being in a financial mess may be overspending and poor money managing skills but there is a large part that is also down to unforseen circumstances, job loses, illness, marriage break up etc. So maybe these narrow minded, holier than thou people should bear this in mind, nobody knows what's around the corner, 12 months down the line they may well be in the same boat, I doubt they'll remember their less than sympathetic behaviour then.

Welcome back Jane
Glad to hear you feel better. Block him and report him.
Sensible what a bunch of single minded fools to sit and think they are above ever doing anything wrong or of anything unfortunate ever happening in their lives.
Jane and sensible none of these people know what they are talking about so they are not worth the worry forget them.
