Hi Jan. It is terrible how you have been treated and these people should realise that it is us who pay their wages and we should receive a proper service.

I feel sorry for the nursing staff who have to do their jobs in often appalling conditions and who can bear the brunt when things are messed up. There are far too many administrators and not enough frontline staff and the consultants who are paid handsomely from our national insurance contributions should not be allowed to go do private work at the expense of normal taxpayers.

Hope all goes well and you are raring to go in the new year.

Having worked in the NHS for most of my adult life and been on the recieving end with my boys, its very frustrating when the decision makers do not pass on important information to the front line staff. They write a few lines in the 'notes' close them and think no more about it. How much money has been wasted on this schelduled op? Loads and why, because they wouldnt know what communication is if it deafened them. Its makes me mad to be honest.

The poor dietician couldn't apologise enough this morning, and it wasn't her fault! I was actually very polite - more gutted than anything else I think. I think the nurses breathed a sigh of relief that I didn't go off on one.

Thank you Michael and Lily for your kind words.

Just wanted to make sure that everone knows I was joking with my comments about punching someones lights out. I was joking, my sense of humour and I wouldnt ever be rude to anyone just doing their job, with their hands often tied behind their backs.

I would have been gutted too hun and I am gutted for you. You have rushed around so much to get sorted in time and then the slight put off yesterday, its just not fair to ordinary people who are natrually scared and daunted by it all. I hope everything goes ahead at the skeduled time and you get it over and done with before the new year kicks in.

Ah Jan, hope you're not too disappointed. At least you're all ready for Christmas now, so try and relax and have a little "me" time, you deserve it.

Fingers x for the 24th.

I'm gutted Julie. I was all geared up for it, so I'm somewhat depressed at the moment.

Jan, you have every right to be down at the moment. I wish I could say something to make you feel better [:(]

I know its not much of a consolation but it will happen, in time for the New Year, new you.

Thinking of you xx

I'm still depressed about it, and crossing my fingers that nothing happens between now and the 23rd.

Jan - only 10 days to go now...we're all sending positive thoughts so everything will be fine for you...just you wait and see.

When do you have to stop taking medication?

2 days before Julie - it is indelibly printed on my brain - and the post it note the nurse gave me before leaving hospital!
