I never used a towel on the floor. I had a dedicated changing table with everything to hand to save my back. But they aren't essential, obviously.
Lesley, I had two in nappies at the same time and you do get it down to a fine art very quickly.
Some parents don't even use nappies. I have heard about EC and although I would never be brave enough to try it with my children the results are staggering. Many kids are potty trained by their first birthday!!

What on earth is EC, no nappies required?

Babies are cheap to maintain as compared to children who get more expensive by the day.

I had 3 under 5 and 2 in nappies at that time, I was knackered for 8 years of my life!

I'm sure being this far down the IVA road you will have nothing to worry about once your baby is born xxx
7 year IVA completed in December 2016 - there is light at the end of that tunnel

I haven't a clue either but it doesn't sound very nice!

That's the thing, babies are pretty cheap to run - you don't need loads of stuff.
Well, depending on your parenting style anyway.

I agree so long as they're, fed, warm and well-loved who could ask for more, it's us that wants the latest gadgets and accessories not the babies. x

I agree babies/children are as expensive or as cheap as you would like them to be.

I do think that good quality clothes ie GAP, NEXT and MONSOON are an investment, I buy all these clothes in the sales and outlet shops look after them then get them on e-bay and I get my money back each and everytime.

ASDA and TESCO offer great quality clothes at fab prices but find I dont get that much for them on e-bay.

PRIMARK well I dont know how people survived without Primark for kids basics, socks, wangers and vests etc.

The "EC" bit I think rainbow is talking about parents that potty train from birth by using the SSSSSSSSSS sound when baby pees and trying to guess when baby is going to pee and poo. It is done before baby is 6mths old and they are often free of accidents by the time they are 2.Not something I can follow as I believe a baby should fit in around the family and not the other way round and I had to go back to work on both occassions when they hit 10mths old and would of struggled to find child care that would of supported this method.

Right that is enough waffle form me!! any news Lulu??

Back to square one but what dunt kill you makes you stronger!!

Dee, I quite agree. I could not put a child through that, they should be allowed to develop naturally, not be made to do something to make the parents life easier which this seems to be doing.

My daughter was toilet trained shortly after she was 2, so I was quite happy.

What do you do at night? Do you get up every so often to lift the child and take them to the loo?

Stupid I call it!

In my opinion it's not natural either, let them be babies, I've had all 5 of my grandchildren here tonight and loved every minute of it....they're so special.

My daughter went to a childminder from the age of 3 months as I couldn't afford not to go back to work, she was allowed to develop naturally.

I could not force a child to do anything too early.
