If you are married i believe you have to include your partners income on an IVA...does this mean that your partner will also receive bad credit, even if the debts are just in your own name?

It's fair to say that when doing credit checks a search in your wife's name will throw up your IVA because of the address. It is then open to your wife to distance herself from it but as is the case whenever anyone makes a subjective decision it will be down to the policy of the potential creditor.

Hi Dave

Unfortunately yes, it would probably affect your wife's credit rating also.

And you cannot disassociate yourself from your spouse's debts in the eyes of the credit scoring agencies sadly.
