Oh well - news today is that my hubby's job is no longer. Too early to know what the outcome will be either a lower paid demotion or redundancy - either way things are looking pretty bleak!!!!

Oh footie, I'm so sorry to hear that, I guess at least the uncertainty has now ended and you know what you are dealing with, have you had a chat with your IP about things?, one thing I do know is that no matter how bleak things look, it WILL work itself out and things won't turn out to be as bad as you are currently thinking they will be, take care, you have so much suppport from us all on here xxx

Thanks Lem. Just feeling a bit numb at the moment but I do know there are people far worse off than us. I think its a case of just trying to put things into perspective but at the moment can't seem to do it x

yes there are always people going through worse things, but right now YOU are going through this and it's your own personal situation that concerns you most and you have every right to be selfish right now.

I am sure your IP will guide you through the bumpy ride ahead for you, we are almost at the same stage in our IVA's and I am sure your IP will do everything they can to keep your IVA on an even keel for you

Footie, I'm so sorry to hear that. I echo what lem has said - you need to concentrate on you and your problems. That's what is important and don't forget that we are all here for you.

Thanks Kazza. Hust not sure what to think or do at the moment. The big problem is that if we are faced with redundancy (very probable) then my hubby would not get another job in the Industry without a completion certificate at the very least and even then it would prove difficult. At this time weare not certain of the package but a rough calculation would give a net payout of aroung £50-60K, which in our situation is not very much. Bearing in mind we would have to purchase a fairly decent car and live for 6-12 months this would leave around £25-£30k for a F & F offer. Does anyone think that there is a chance of this amount being accepted by Creditor's when our payments remaining are £1,026 x 46. We have already paid an extra 12K in bonuses. Any suggestions would be welcomed. I will speak to my IP soon but at the moment I don't think I could hold a sensible conversation without breaking down x

I would think footie that that would be a good offer in your circumstances and that's the way I would be thinking, have a chat with your IP and see what they say

Creditors will take what they can get - they've alreay given up - if it's all that's on offer and you're chances of finding work are limited then they'll take what you offer. Really depends on your prospects nothing more. The IVA will act as 'devils advocate' but if there ain't no more money that's it f&F agreed
Be strong -it's not a favour it's a business.

:) You are having a bad day I am just at the end of a bad 3 years
The IVA is like the Toblerone of life
1 minute you are up and then down get used to it
You are 14 months in already 12 more months you are at Year 3 then 2 then 1 then its over

Just look at it as a Bank loan thats for 5 years and it will pass
Dont let your life be controlled by the IVA ok You are in control now and its just an extra bill per month

For me its been like a black cloud hanging over me the last 4 years or so but it was throwing it down in rain before I started my IVA :) so soon I will be pulling my sunnies out and be back in the sun free as a bird

stay positive and look for the upside not the donwside There are millions worse off in the world and even in this forum people are yet to start or at month 1 so keep your chin up

Hi Niobe - things are a bit in limbo at the moment until we know exactly what will happen regarding hubby's employment but we are enjoying the Olympics very much and this is keeping our minds occupied in a good way. I'm going to have a word with our case worker this morning just to let her know what is going on and then try to see what our options are if the worse comes to the worse! Hubby is keeping his head down and working hard but I can tell he is suffering with emotions at the moment but hopefully this will pass soon. Apart from the uncertainty everything else is fine and thank you for asking - much appreciated x
