Not sure about Citibank, but maybe one of our other posters will have experience of them.

Hoefully you'll get that account number tomorrow. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I don't know of any of our posters who have mentioned them but worth considering if they're not one of your creditors.

I phoned again today but the lady said that as its a joint account we will have to sign the joint account form before the account can be opened. She said it will be 7 days from when they recieve the form back. :-(
So I opened one just for me but even then she said it will take 2 working days to set up and they won't be able to give me the account number over the phone!

Im getting really worried as I start my new job Monday and they want my bank details and I can't give them my current ones! aghhh what a mess!

Just tell your new, firm that you are in the process of changing banks and will give them the details as soon as possible. Try going into a branch and explaining and see if they will give you the account details

Annierose I have an account with citibank and they are awful. The plus side is that it is free to bank with them and they have 0800 telephone banking. The downside is a lack of any branches, call centre in India only, archaic systems - no faster payments system yet, awful customer service. They mainly provide a service for American ex pats coming to the UK. Their Internet banking is ok but I wouldn't recommend them, I use it as my back up account and I'm thankful that it's alli need them for.

I had a few hiccups when opening a cashminder account, but they were all of my own doing. Co-op were very helpful and gave me my sort code and account number over the phone, after a few security questions.
