i have made the phonecall to tina (at melanies office) she is great, i so relieved to share it. cannot progress further as my partner is currenntly working notice and the jobs she is looking at are paying considerably less than what she is earning now. we have managed to get building society to agree to interest only payments on the mortgage. we have opened a new joint account in preparation for paying bills. we now need to open single accounts for income looking for recomendations from some of you that have gone through this process already. also do any of you recommend a prepayment card for budgeting purpose?

I would definitely recommend the Co-op Cashminder account if they're not one of your creditors. You can only apply for it on the phone or in a branch, but it's an excellent account and you get a debit card with it, which is a bonus.

Regarding a pre payment card, a lot of people have Cashplus Mastercards, and I have a Tuxedo Maestro which seems ok so far.

If you've got accounts with A & L and they aren't one of your creditors you should be fine. I think other people on here have banked with them with no problems.

Hi michael

Tina is fab isn't she? Really friendly and reassuring[:)]

I think a lot of forum memebers bank with A & L and are very happy with them, as Skippy says as long as they are not a creditor thats fine.

Good luck to your partner in the job search

If you havent yet proposed your iva ,i would recommend smile banking . U can pay money in at the post office and some other banks will accept payment through them . They gave me a current account with internet banking, visa debit card and £500 overdraft( I sent a secure message cancelling that when it was set up).

I have a cheque book and visa debit card with my co op account as applied before my iva when my credit rating was ok then.

The co op are so great and helpful when ever I need to interact with them[:)]
