bankrupt and iva tenants affecting my credit ?

Process of renting my proprety & I have been informed by the letting agent that the tenants have poor credit, one has been declared bankrupt & the other has an IVA. Would it affect my credit history on the property.

Hi Eddie

No it won't affect credit history on the property as their credit histories are personal and not tied to the property. I have an IVA and live in rented accomodation and none of my landlords have ever had any problems. It didn't even affect my partners credit file who lived with me.

There shouldnt be any problems but if anything did crop up, just write a letter to the credit reference agencies and disassociate yourself from the said persons debts.

I have an iva and my son has just got a lap top on credit he lives at my address and shares my surname, so it has not affected him at all.
