Hi,

I have a court date of 28th February for my Bankruptcy. I have finally decided to take the plunge, although as time gets nearer getting more anxous about it. I have filled out my forms including income and expenditure. The reason my IVA is failing is because I have had constant car bills, costing me over £900.00 in the last year. I desperately need to buy a new car, and the only way to do this is to save. If I tell the court this will they allow me to use any disposable income to buy a car, or will they want it for an IPO. If I do not have a car I can not work or get my children to school.

Hi and I'm sorry to hear about your iva coming to an end. I don't know whether you can save for a car in BR but someone will. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for an answer. Good lick for your court date...I've heard it's pretty painless. X

Seems a shame your IVA is failing because of something that is a necessity. I would have thought your IP could have negotiated a payment break to save up. How much longer do you have to go on your IVA? Could you buy a cheap run a round to get you through a few years,we picked up a little car for £600 and it has lasted us 2 years and still going!!

Floridaholiday has had an awful lot of problems with her IVA which is why she is going BR.

I'm not sure what would happen about being able to fund a car, that would be something to take up with the OR.
