Hi Terry
as odd as it may seem when I went bankrupt it was a very informal meeting. I was called into a room and the judge was just sitting there and asked me to explain my situation. He then concluded my saying that as from now you are Bankrupt. I had to then make my way to the official receivers office when a interview was held. It was all very straight forward and although it seems a big step, you really dont have to worry about being in court of the interview with the Offical receiver. I just went casual. If you normally wear a suit and tie, thats of course fine. Will be thinking of you Rich

Rich that's a very positive encouraging post for Terry that I'm sure he'll find reassuring. x

It does depend upon which court you go to as to the procedure. A lot of people don't see a judge now and then you usually have an initial chat with the receivers office on the phone the same day and then have an in depth interview at a later date.

I'd go for the suit & tie, Terry. If thats what you wear for work, you'll feel more comfortable.
My hubby went BR following a failed IVA and the court experience wasn't as daunting as we had imagined (and stressed). We saw a judge and a clerk, both very nice and helpful.
Good luck!!

Good luck terry, remember to let us know how it went. I know what you mean about looking back. We had our own business and a lovely life..then the domino effect happened. Crash bang wallop! Look to the future you can work on that and make many more plans for yourself and good times .

Good luck for Wednesday Terry, I was speaking to a neighbour today, he told me he went BR last year, he said no problems at court, nothing to worry about as everyone was very helpful. It's just the fear of the unknown that gives us the collywobbles!!
