I suppose people like me screw up the statistics - I went into an IVA in the last quarter of 2006, and bankrupt in the first quarter of 2007!

The one thing I really hate is the fact that I am 'a bankrupt'. I know it sounds silly and there are far bigger things to worry about, but I hate being pigeon-holed! In the (amended) words of the Prisoner, 'I am not a number, I am a debt free woman!'

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

Skippy Hold your head up high.

If people are branded because they have a lack of money and it often feels that way, what a sad world this is.

Your qualities as a person are whats important and youre right up there. You are a person undergoing an involvency proceedure.

LILY

fly me beyond the distant star, I will wish on tonight to see you smile just once more to know youre there.

Thanks Lily! I know it's a silly thing but it just bugs me.

My friend had her OR interview today and as she doesn't work they are taking her car (worth £400 max) and possibly a bracelet that she bought before she went BR. She's not worried about the bracelet, but a bit put out about the car. It just scares me that there are so many people out here who are now going BR. What really annoyed me was that yesterday someone called me jammy for going BR as my debts have been written off, almost like it was an easy decision.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

skippy 13 unfortunately that can be the reaction of people who didn't have to do a bankruptcy. Nevermind we are paying back what we can by way of an IPA;and many lose their homes and cars in the process. ALL, they can think is that we paid nothing!

If they think it's such an easy decision, let them seriously contemplate it. They would soon form a different opinion.

Also, on a lighter note, I coined a new term as I too do not care for the word 'bankrupt'. It's on the sister site though(smile).

I'm trying to look busy at work at the moment but failing miserably! Reading the forum is so much more interesting than entering orders for microchips!
