As anyone who has declared themselve bankrupt had a BRU against them.

What exactly is a BRU? and what does it mean for the bankrupt.

Sorry a BRU /BRO Bankrupcy Undertaking/Order and extended time in bankruptcy i think for bad conduct of your credit

Yeah, they are a punishment for not co-operating and/or hiding assets/information. If the OR deems that you have been irrisponsible or reckless leading upto or during your br, they can apply a BRU/BRO. They can last for upto 15yr so they are quite serious.

I didn't get one. Have a look on the Insolvency Service website where it lists all outstanding BRU/BRO's and the reasons they were given - http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/databases/ ... search.htm
