Exactly - you're not shirking your responsibility at all, you are finding out your options so you can make an informed decision.

Good luck with talking to your IP, let us know how you get on x

Errr there's nothing good about me going for a run - think a hippo having an asthma attack and you'll be pretty close!

I started running back in June with the plan of doing a 10k at the end of September. The 10k is completely out of the question now as I lapsed with my training! We were on holiday and were both ill and it's taken me quite a while to get back into it. I'm now hoping to do a local 10k in May next year.

I've tried running in the past, but I've always set myself targets that are too high. This time I've got a route of about 1 1/2 miles and my first target is to get round it without walking - I was almost there back in June!

It sounds pretty pathetic that I can't run 1 1/2 miles, but I will do it - any advice welcome!

Well I went for a run - I nearly didn't but it was such a nice evening I thought I'd better go. It was really hard and I hated every step but at least I did it! I was pleased when I got home as I'd done it 22 seconds quicker than last time.

I'm going to use you as my inspiration TTGH - I'm not sure about the marathon, but I'm definitely going for a 10k!
