Hi sugababe, they were insistant with me too but I never gave in and made a token payment, I just repeated myself over and over again. It's tedious but has to be done to satisfy the caller! Have a word with your IP about the payment but then if you pay them X amt, i think that would be showing preferrential treatment to them so would mean you had to pay all other creditors X amount pro rata?

Don't quote me on that but I'm sure an expert will confirm it's something along those lines.

hang in there x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi Andy,

Thanx I will sort it as soon as I have a mo (or 2)

Sugababe if you feel it is worth bunging Mercers a few pounds a month to shut them up I would do it, I don't think you will get into any trouble with preference, the sums involved are too small to matter. Make sure it is just a few quid tho, they are bound to try and ratchet it up if possible.

Best Regards, Simon

Sugababe - next time they call, ask them to hold for a minute and then go out for a walk. Next time, they won't be so eager to pay the bill !

Have you got an answerphone ? If so, let the machine take the calls. I've found a phone with caller ID useful - you have to subscribe via BT but there's no charge and it really helps to avoid people you don't want to speak to - even neighbours !!
There's light at the end of the tunnel - it's just that sometimes the tunnel seems so long.

joh is right and the good news is generally speaking it won't make a jot of difference to the outcome of your application whether you indulge your creditors pester calls or not. This is covered in another post recently and if you can be bothered there are interminable ramblings in my blog about it.

Best Regards, Simon

I would use the caller id or answer machine if you have it. We resorted to just turning the ringer down on the phone and I would check, 1471, when I noticed it ringing/flashing. Was nearly always 08 numbers with a few withheld ones, all creditors, make sure the people who you want to speak to have an alternative number to get you on. It doesn't make any difference to the outcome if you co-operate with your creditors or not. There was once the same number rang six times within around 10mins, think the callers must be on bonus for everyone they contact.....
Try not to worry too much though, you will get there in the end.
xx
It's nice to be back......
