Afternoon all

Ok so I recently put in a ppi claim to Barclay loan (formally Master loan) in respect to a 10k loan I had with them. They have replied saying they have no record of the loan and the fore no ppi can be claimed.

I find this a bit disturbing as I've paid almost 4k of the loan back, so if they can't find any record of the loan in the first place do they now owe me my money back?

If you have an account number and statements, or even a copy of the original loan agreement, then you have proof the loan existed.

You may need to go to the company who were Masterloan and held the original agreement, they may not have passed on certain details to Barclay Loan.

I know Citi or Egg card sold but they still have a contact on their web site for old customers making a claim..

Hi nickjohn

I have the account numbers as they formed part of my iva, Masterloan was what are now called Barclay loans so they are the same company. They sold the debt onto max recovery after my default ( this hasn't stopped any of my other creditors paying back ppi ) I have sent Barclays copies of my iva agreement with there details on plus a statement from max recovery with the same details on. And yet they still claim the have no record of the loan ever existing.

I'm thinking I may need some legal advice here.

Hi serenity you could try writing once more and if you still don't get any satisfaction, allowing them 7 working days to respond etc, then i would write again, send it recorded delivery and outline in your letter that you are now approaching the FLA and also the ombudsman because you are not happy with the way they have dealt with your complaint to which you have evidence of payment along with your contract numbers. There is a website for the Finance and Leasing Association which can give you more information. Good luck and best wishes. x
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.
