Good morning all,

Does anybody have any advice on dealing with Barclaycard? I had my IVA approved at the start of July, however Barclaycard are becoming ever more persistent in their phone calls! They really can't grasp the fact that I am now in an IVA and there is very little point in keep ringing me. I seem to be getting endless calls from their automated phone service, which although quite entertaining listening to it attempting to pronounce my surname, is now getting rather tedious! All of my other creditors have now given up calling, just wondered if anybody knew how to deal with Barclaycard??

Thanks

Andy

A few people on here have had the same problem with Barclaycard. Have a word with your IP and ask them to contact them for you.

The problem is, it can take a little while for the information to filter through to the relevant department. I would do what skippy has suggested and give your IP a ring.

Barclaycard are a nightmare!

I would suggest Andy, that you ignore them or do as Graham is, and change your number.

The calls will stop and you can rest assured that they can do nothing to you. If you do anwser the call, just refuse to confirm the security details and they cannot continue with the calls.

Nice one Graham, I think that my misses would kill me if I changed our home number!! Did you get in contact with ClearDebt and ask them to deal with Barclaycard? I going to give them a call in the morning and see if there is anything they can do.

Thought I'd deal with the problem myself and let cleardebt get on with helping others at the minute but obviously if I hadn't changed the number and they persisted with the calls I would of asked cleardebt for help.In your case if you can't change the number rather than the wife killing you I'd contact cleardebt.!!! Anna did say to me after two weeks the calls should stop but if they don't then forward the details on.so I'm sure they will stop them for you.on the plus side isn't it great when the credit card bills arive and you can look at them and laugh at the minimum payment figure that is doubling every time and think to yourself how the hell did I cope and how relieved I am now.

Couldn't agree more Graham, had a statement from Barclaycard only last week and like you say the 'how the hell did I cope' thought went through my mind! Scary really but thanks to the team at ClearDebt all that worry has gone and I can enjoy my weekends again!! . . . . apart from the wake up calls from Barclaycard!!! I'm sure they will get sorted in time though and as Kallis3 points out 'rest assured that they can do nothing to you' :0)

We had three letters yesterday from Robinson Way who purchased our HSBC debts. All three were the same and going on about how we could build our credit up and we shouldn't be favouring one creditor over another and and we should make a payment!

Wouldn't mind but we've been in our IVA for almost 16 months and they didn't bother to vote!

Barclaycard (Mercers) were my worst for ringing constantly and threatening via postcards that they were coming to visit. I think I got shirty in the end at some poor soul and shouted check the insolvency register...I have and I'm on there! Maybe a coincidence but didn't hear from them again. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi fingerscrossed,

I was up to date with payments on my Barclaycard up until my IVA was accepted on 6th July. Was due to make a payment to them on the 7th July!! Obviously didn't make that payment and think I can now officially add them to my 'friends & family' they have called that often . . . infact they have just interrupted my Sunday lunch . . . again!!!
