If the natwest aren't one of your creditors then you get a visa debit card and can use that online? Coop come highly recommended on the forum too.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I think Barclays are ok as well with a basic account.

This is from the FSA's site and lists the basic accounts and what you can and cannot have. Hope it helps.

I opened a Lloyds basic account, then after a month got an upgrade to a silver acc with benifits such as mobile phone insurance, AA cover and travel insurance (should I win the lottery!!) Both accounts came with a visa debit card which can be used online and its great as its a high street bank, so nobody can tell u have money troubles.

That is an excellent link Michael. We ought to be able to have that as a link on the site so everyone can check it - I'll suggest it to admin.

It is a useful link and glad I am not getting pulled for advertising. I know admin can be hot on that!

I think it was posted a few weeks ago as well but of course posts come and go so if we could get that put on the site it would be good.

I have emailed admin and suggested it so we'll see if it can be done.

You're lucky to have got a cheque book kat - I presume it's because you are pre iva and it's a full account? I have the basic Nationwide account with just a debit card but it does for me.

We have the co-op basic cash minder account and have our direct debits set up on it plus get a debit card. The Co-op don't mind that we have just entered into an IVA so we've no complaints.

The Co-op are one of the most IVA friendly banks around - it's rare anyone has a problem opening an account.

I had no problems with the Co-op and I would recommend them to anyone. The only reason I don't use the account is that I've got a full Flexaccount with Nationwide and it seemed silly not to use it.

Hi - I opened a Natwest Step account - Vista Debit card ( no chequebook) It has taken over 2 weeks to get set up / approved and opened but I have no complaints so far. I can set up DD's and SO's so hopefully once I am in my IVA it will be fine. It did come recommended from my IVA company Cleardebt.
