A very Happy New Year to you all.Christmas Eve, santa gave me an eviction notice for the 27th March. As some of you are aware, i live in the nurses home, and have an exciting opportunity to move into the new key worker homes on the same site, the build is seriously ahead of schedule, and the "village" looks stunning,i'm so excited, been waiting 5 years and i can finally say goodbye to cockroaches and mice !!! So my new landlord will be Thames Valley Housing, who are offering all the help and support moving will involve, from boxes and tape, to great walloping blokes to help move it all.The thing is i do not have any idea what type of place i am going to be offered, a studio (pant pant) or a shared flat. Rent will increase and council tax payable. Whatever, they want a months rent and deposit, argh. I'm really worried that i will be asking my IP for a 2 month payment break already. My IVA has been furnished nicely, and i don't want it to fail at all.I have no choice but to hold back on my payments for 2 months, pay my deposit etc, move in and then submit a new I&E form. That's the plan anyway,I want to avoid BR at all costs. If my IP fails my IVA can i apply for another one with the same company, what about a DMP ? At what point can an IP make you BR ?
Nice to see you again quark, sounds like you've got a nice new pad to move into. You are usually allowed to miss 3 payments which can be made up at the end or by paying a bit extra every month. Your ip should be understanding on this, it's not like you have a choice. Besides your home and happiness is far more important anyway.

IVA started may 07 ended dec 08
Thanks Pixie, you know i'm come to grow fond of my IVA, it feels brilliant when another payment is made. Are you saying i can miss 3 payments then ? that would help alot, thing is i will not be able to make the same contribution as i am now
You should have no problems getting your IP to agree to a payment break for this. I am sure they will be sympathetic.

happy new year quark kal and pixie are spot on. if you advise your ip of your good news they have the power to allow a short payment break that you can make back up in agreeance with them. let a pro confirm-should be one nearby hun [:)]
yes happy new year from me too. please speak to your IP as soon as possible - a payment break seems the right way to go.

Good luck with the move, I hope you get the accommodation you want. I'm sure your IP will be sympathetic to you needing a payment break as this isn't something that you can avoid.
